Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters
write random and link it on up!

the weather here has been so amazing. exactly what i needed to pull myself out of this s.a.d. i know the cold will come again, my Bigmama always said to look for a cold snap and/or freeze right before Easter,
but i think now i can make it to spring. i worked my booty off getting some leaves out of the pool. it is not my habit to let our pool get funky, but some leaves were in there from a storm a while back and it has driven me nuts - but been too cold to deal with it. i feel so happy that they are all gone now.

we had the most amazing dinner this weekend. the canadian made a trip to fresh market and we had fresh grilled tuna steaks, grilled shrimp, grilled sweet potatoes, i can't quit thinking about how yummy it was and how i wish we could eat that way all of the time!
so yummy! i am reminded though that we need new grill guts for the upcoming season

it seems as though everyone is making trips to ny these days. what's up with that? is it just now the thing to do throughout blog and facebook land?  i can't help but wonder, what has prompted this exodus to the north?
(do i get bonus points for the carrie bradshaw-esque line?)

as you can see, the Manns prefer vacationing where there is sunshine and beaches :)
i am still plugging along with the one year Bible challenge, and have been pleasantly surprised at how much i have enjoyed it - and at how many weird, weird things are in there that either i don't remember or have never read.  here is an example from last week...

51 At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split52 and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. 53 They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and[a] went into the holy city and appeared to many people.
Matthew 27:51-54 (New International Version, ©2010)

i'm sorry, WHAT? was this like day of the living dead? i have no recollection of ever hearing this part of the crucifixion/resurrection!

i have been wanting to start a prayer journal. anyone out there have ideas to share on how you are using a prayer journal or on how you set yours up? i am looking for ideas to get started.

okay, enough! off to enjoy this president's day holiday! and just for the record, my favorite president was Ronald Reagan ;)

  1. We grilled this weekend too. It was such lovely weather for grilling.

  2. mmm... dinner sounds GOOD!

yeah, your boys like NY about as much as i do.

the one year Bible challenge is awesome. keep at it!

    and Reagan. i LOVE him. : )

  3. Yeah, what's up with people going to NY? It was great fun, but WAY too cold for me. Next time I go it will be a late spring/early summer trip. I kept thinking, "How do people live in this weather?"

We grilled this weekend, too. We tried to do as much outside as we could to enjoy the weather.

Enjoy your President's Day. I'm working, but it's okay, I'm trying not to work too hard ;)

  4. awww you made me want to get out and grill...think i'll make hubs this weekend...i think our weather here is still gonna be hot!

  5. I grilled for the first time all by my self this weekend (sans hubby). This was apparently a good weekend for it!

That picture of the boys is pricesless :)

  6. Our weather has been fabulous the last week too! I really wish the pool would hurry up & warm up. My hubs always says the same thing about a freeze & Easter. I don't remember that part of the resurrection either.

  7. Good morning from Tokyo!

What a delicious meal you all enjoyed! I wish our balcony were a bit wider to allow a small grill. The weather made the food taste even better, right? Ha! I'm so glad to hear everyone is enjoying a warm snap.

My best to you and yours...
